Fasted for two days and drew a map of my soul. It is the blueprint of my elementary school. I would wander the halls looking for my teacher. Drawing the map I looked for her again and, dear god, I found her, she was next to a wall, the one with all the names on it, the names of the students. We were all so small. Then it was time to go home.
The gymnasium and playground are the largest areas of my soul, big empty boxes to put recreation in. Classrooms, offices, closets, cubbies; a hallway provides access to these areas of my soul. When I am really despairing I go to the nurse’s office, the nurse has cold hands. The stairwells are frightening, I do not know where they lead.
